If you want to build a memorable and engaging text-based media presence, you need to strategically balance 3 types of content:
- Short Social Posts
These are posts under 500 words, like Threads updates. The goal is to generate traffic, test market reactions, and identify trending topics. - Long Social Posts
These are posts over 500 words, often split into multiple parts. Typically, they extend popular short posts to enhance your professional brand image and build audience loyalty. This is the content I often share on FB and Threads. - Long-form Newsletters
These are detailed posts over 1,000 words. Their purpose is to build trust with readers and, most importantly, create a “private traffic funnel” that’s free from algorithm constraints.
My “3-2-1″ Content Creation Strategy

1️⃣ 3 short social posts per day (under 500 words)
- Primarily posted on Threads. If a post goes viral, immediately copy and share it on FB.
2️⃣ 2 long social posts per week (over 500 words)
- Posted simultaneously on FB and Threads. These can expand on viral short posts or cover new topics.
3️⃣ 1 long-form newsletter per week (over 1,000 words)
- The goal is to build a private audience list, enhance professional credibility, and gain reader trust. These long-form articles can later be “recycled” and repurposed into shorter social posts or expanded into new content.
Short posts are for traffic, and long posts are for retention.
You must balance both types of content. Relying solely on one will severely limit your growth potential.
This strategy is the most time-efficient and practical approach I’ve found, especially for solopreneurs or small businesses.
